Concord Youth Theater offers a wide range of programs for children and young adults. Whether you want to be part of a weekly class or a major theatrical production, there is something for every child from age 4 through college at CYT.
CYT follows MA public school guidelines around Covid-19 protocols. In addition, we take the following health safety measures:
Limiting contact
- Non-essential adults, including family members of children, will not be allowed access to the building. Drop-off and pick-up will take place outside of the building.
What to expect when you arrive at CYT
- Children will be escorted to their class by CYT staff.
What to expect when you pick up your child from class
- Families will be asked to wait outside, and a CYT staff person will escort their child out of the building.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:
Tuition is due at the time of registration. Your space is guaranteed only when payment is received. All classes are contingent on sufficient enrollment. Tuitions will be returned if a class is cancelled. In the case of Registrant cancellation, REFUNDS (minus a $25 processing fee) ARE GIVEN ONLY IF THE OFFICE IS NOTIFIED ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE START OF FIRST CLASS. Once a class begins, no refunds will be given.

Classes are designed to afford interested students the exciting experience of rehearsing a piece from start to finish and performing it for a live audience. For these classes to succeed, regular attendance by all students is absolutely crucial. This promotes an understanding of individual responsibility, fosters group ensemble, and provides the necessary continuity in rehearsal. Please check your schedules carefully for conflicts before signing up for classes so indicated. Should a conflict arise, call the office immediately.

FAIRY WINGS AND HAIRY THINGS
(Ages 4-6 years; Instructor: Joey Talbert; Tuesdays 3:45-4:35pm) Come toss some fairy dust with us and go to a world where trolls stroll and unicorns prance. Using their imaginations and sense of fun, children will befriend and become these magical creatures as they act out tales on the stage. ***Regular attendance is required. Limit 8 students. Tuition $275
SHOWTIME
(Grades 1-2; Instructor: Joey Talbert; Tuesdays 4:45-5:45pm) Children will be guided through the exciting process of play-making in a safe environment that encourages ensemble work. The class will use exciting original scripts to create and rehearse a play to be performed for family members during the last class. ***Regular attendance is required. Limit 10 students. Tuition $300
KIDS KOMPANY
(Grades 3-4; Instructor: Joey Talbert; Tuesday’s 6:00-7:00pm)
Students will experience the excitement of putting on a play, improvising scripts, auditioning for roles, rehearsing, and creating simple costumes to accent their characters. This class will focus on performance skills with special emphasis on class collaboration. The session will conclude with an informal performance. ***Regular attendance is required. Limit 15 students. Tuition: $300
PLAYMAKING
(Grades 5-8; Instructor: Amy Nosowitz; Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00pm) Ready for a “change of scene?” In Playmaking, students work together to imagine characters and visualize how their relationships form on stage. Guided by Amy Nosowitz, students explore how dialogue, movement, and song can build stories as they collaborate on original pieces. Like comedy? moving monologues? expressing yourself through song or dance? There is something for everyone in Playmaking, just bring your playfulness, sense of adventure, and willingness to try! BROADWAY DANCE
(Grades 6-12; Instructor: Amy Nosowitz; Tuesdays 7:15-8:15pm) Love all those big musical theater dance numbers? Come see how it’s done and try it yourself! Join us to learn choreography to musical theater songs and astound yourself as you perform a full fledged dance number. No dance background necessary. (Grades 4-6; Instructor: Hannah Flint; Tuesdays 5:00 – 6:00pm) Students will perform an entire scene from a musical. They will learn to seamlessly integrate the music, perform blocking and choreography and make strong acting choices while singing.

SCENE STUDY
(Grades 7-9; Instructor: Hannah Flint; Tuesdays 6:15-7:15pm)
This class is the perfect opportunity for students who want to challenge themselves as actors. Students will work on advanced, dynamic scenes from plays. They will hone their acting skills by working on playing off a partner, breaking down a scene and making strong character choices supported by the text. Limit 20 students. Tuition: $300

In this workshop, students will master important audition skills including cold readings, improv and preparing a monologue. MAINSTAGE MIRROR
(Grades 4-6; Instructor: Hannah Flint; Tuesdays 5:15-6:15pm) Can’t participate in our MainStage production company because you’re not old enough or don’t have enough time in your week, but love the great shows? Here is a unique chance to learn and informally perform scenes and songs from “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” for your family and friends.
