We’re serving more than 500 young people a year, but we could do so much more.
It’s difficult to measure Concord Youth Theatre’s impact on the children who participate in our programs. We could talk about our alumni who are making waves as actors, writers and creators on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on our TVs and on the Big Screen. We could talk about all the teachers, directors, and choreographers we’ve educated who are now bringing their passion for the arts to children’s programs all over the country. We could talk about the adults in all walks of life who are using the talents and confidence they developed here to change the world. What we most love to talk about is the hundreds of children who currently call Concord Youth Theatre a second home, a place where they thrive not just creatively, but socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
As a child, CYT was my home away from home. It’s not only where I discovered my passion, but it’s where I made lifelong friends and learned so many valuable tools that I use to this day. CYT is everything. – Chris Evans, Actor
But want we want to talk about right now is how many more children we could serve. 2022-23 was our first full season in several years. We have waitlists for our performance companies and for several of our classes. We added a third session of our Junior Company to be able to offer this beloved early acting experience to more students. We are stretching our resources – and our space – to have more students working with teachers holding advanced degrees in theater, more young actors on our stage, and more community members enjoying the high production values found in CYT performances – performances happening in their own backyards.
At Concord Youth Theatre, we aim to enrich the lives of as many people young people as possible by providing opportunities for their active involvement in the creative process. In order to welcome more young actors into our community, we need to increase our teaching and support staff and secure additional performing spaces. We are committed to growth and have set an ambitious Annual Fund goal of $40,000 to enable us to achieve these goals in the coming year.
As alumni and families of CYT, you know well how Concord Youth Theatre has transformed your lives. We understand and are grateful for the ways your support has been critical to our success. Thank you for being part of our story!
We hope you will give to CYT as generously as you can so that we can give more children the chance to be part of our Concord Youth Theatre family.
Thank you for your support!

2023 Annual Appeal
We Appreciate Your Suport
Dear Friend of Concord Youth Theatre,
As the year comes to a close, we want to thank you for your generous support of Concord Youth Theatre (CYT). Because of you, we have been able to provide a wide variety of wonderful theater experiences and community events for many young people and their families.
This year, we step firmly in the foothold we found in your support, post pandemic. CYT produced several amazing shows in 2023, including The Rainbow Fish, Be More Chill, Little Women, and A Year with Frog and Toad. We have also offered a variety of classes and programs for children and young adults, helping them develop their skills and confidence. We invite you to view our 2023-2024 season, classes, and more here, CYT’s newly redesigned website.
At CYT, students benefit from participation in art creation with leadership from professionals in their fields, and from programming designed by educators who fully understand how to engage and develop young artists. Our stage direction, music direction, lighting, sets, and costumes are all provided by industry artists, making CYT a source of high production value, quality performance art in the community. We are proud to be part of the community and to be able provide access to local cultural programming, as an alternative to traveling to Boston, or further, for high quality arts education and experiences.
Our students need these experiences, and the sense of connectedness they bring, now more than ever. And CYT cannot create these experiences without you. Your donations help us cover
- the costs of our programs, including the high production values found in our sets, props, costumes, lighting, and equipment
- instruction led only by teachers with formal education and training in theater and performance arts
- the CYT scholarship program, making it possible to include more students in the important work done here at CYT, both on and off the stage
- sound equipment investments, to make our theater an even better fit for community presentations, guest speakers, and musical performances
We believe that youth theater is more than just entertainment. It is a powerful tool for education, empowerment, and social change. Theater encourages self-expression, team work, creative thinking, and empathy. Theater also creates a sense of belonging and community, where everyone is welcome and valued.
That’s why we are asking you to please consider a year-end gift to CYT today. Your donation will help us continue our mission of enriching the lives of young people through theater arts. No matter how big or small, every gift makes a difference.
You can make your donation online, using the Donate button above, or by mail at 53 Church St, West Concord, MA 01742. Please make your check payable to Concord Youth Theatre.
Thank you for being a part of our CYT family. We hope to see you at one of our upcoming shows or events. We wish you a happy and healthy holiday season!
With gratitude,
Tammy Smith, President, Board of Directors
