Calling all you “treble” makers for a great night of music to benefit Concord Youth Theatre! On Friday, February 6, CYT will host high school, college and adult-level a capella groups at Concord-Carlisle High School, 500 Walden Street in Concord. We’ve got some returning favorites and some groups who are new to this lively and memorable evening!

CYT actors will inspire you with new and improved versions of familiar children’s stories, complete with a sing-a-long!
Outgoing audience members may even join the actors on stage to tell a joke or share a special talent. And everyone gets a prize at the end!!!

Playtime performances start at 10:30 and attendees pay $5/person at the door.

New York City, 1899. Jack Kelly and his ragtag team of newsboys make a meager living selling newspapers on the city streets. But when the prices of “papes” are hiked and the newsies are hung out to dry, there is nothing left to do but “open the gates and seize the day!” Led by charismatic Jack and independent, young newspaper reporter Katherine Plummer, the Newsies form a union and organize a strike against the greedy publisher of the New York World. Can a group of idealistic newsboys win against a foe as powerful as acclaimed publisher Joseph Pulitzer? Inspired by the true story of the 1899 Newsboys Strike, Newsies is a joyful, and entertaining musical!
