We’re serving more than 500 young people a year, but we could do so much more.
It’s difficult to measure Concord Youth Theatre’s impact on the children who participate in our programs. We could talk about our alumni who are making waves as actors, writers and creators on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on our TVs and on the Big Screen. We could talk about all the teachers, directors, and choreographers we’ve educated who are now bringing their passion for the arts to children’s programs all over the country. We could talk about the adults in all walks of life who are using the talents and confidence they developed here to change the world. What we most love to talk about is the hundreds of children who currently call Concord Youth Theatre a second home, a place where they thrive not just creatively, but socially, emotionally, and intellectually.
As a child, CYT was my home away from home. It’s not only where I discovered my passion, but it’s where I made lifelong friends and learned so many valuable tools that I use to this day. CYT is everything. – Chris Evans, Actor
But want we want to talk about right now is how many more children we could serve. Coming back from the pandemic, CYT’s 2022-23 season is our first full season in several years. We have waitlists for our performance companies and for several of our classes. We added a third session of our Junior Company to be able to offer this beloved early acting experience to more students. After two years of canceled fundraisers, due to Covid, we are stretching our resources – and our space – to have more students working with teachers holding advanced degrees in theater, more young actors on our stage, and more community members enjoying the high production values found in CYT performances – performances happening in their own backyards.
At Concord Youth Theatre, we aim to enrich the lives of as many people young people as possible by providing opportunities for their active involvement in the creative process. In order to welcome more young actors into our community, we need to increase our teaching and support staff and secure additional performing spaces. We are committed to growth and have set an ambitious Annual Fund goal of $40,000 to enable us to achieve these goals in the coming year.
As alumni and families of CYT, you know well how Concord Youth Theatre has transformed your lives. We understand and are grateful for the ways your support has been critical to our success. Thank you for being part of our story!
We hope you will give to CYT as generously as you can so that we can give more children the chance to be part of our Concord Youth Theatre family.
Thank you for your support!
