About CYT Performance Companies

All CYT Performance Companies offer young people the opportunity to participate in a live theatre performance. Process and education are the focus. All CYT Productions are designed and directed by professionals who are committed to maintaining high standards of excellence while fostering the growth and artistic expression of all students.
You do not need to prepare any special materials for auditions. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
 

Auditioning

ALL AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD AT 50 BEHARRELL STREET. Tuition assistance is available. Requests must be made in writing to the Artistic Director, Lisa Evans. Please call the office at 978-371-1482 to register if you would like to audition for any of the productions listed below. For descriptions of any of the productions, please click on Performances.

Mainstage Performance Company
Schoolhouse Rocks Live Too!
Directed by: Lisa Evans
Audition dates and times: Sept. 13 & 15, 3:45–6:00PM. You only need to attend one of the audition dates but please plan to stay for the entire audition time
Performance dates: November 5th-14th (Fridays 7:30, Saturdays 2:00 and 7:00, Sundays 2:30)
Rehearsals: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:45–6:00 PM
Tuition: $380; Audition fee: $5
Students ages 10-18 are eligible to audition. Those accepted into the company will begin rehearsals on September 20th. 
If a student is 9 years old and has taken two classes at CYT, they are also eligible to audition.

Young Adult Performance Company
Once Upon a Mattress
Directed by: Carly Evans
Audition dates and times: August 30 and 31, Time TBA. You only need to attend one of the audition dates but please plan to stay for the entire audition time
Performance dates: October 15th through 24th (Fridays 7:30, Saturdays 2:00 and 7:00, Sundays 2:30)
Rehearsals TBA
Tuition: $380; Audition fee $5

Saturday Morning Family Fun
A Special Opportunity for Older Students
Looking for an outlet for your creativity and imagination? Are you at your best in front of a crowd? Then we are looking for you! Audition for a chance to participate in a performance troupe that’s not for the faint of heart!!! We will cast actors who will be expected to improvise lines, sings songs, tell jokes, and be outrageously silly in front of a live audience! Each week, a select cast of actors will rehearse and perform their own new and improvised version of a children’s story. Actors will gain first-hand knowledge of audience dynamics and how to “work the crowd” while guiding audience participation.

CYT TAKES A COMMITMENT TO THE PERFORMANCE COMPANY SERIOUSLY. PLEASE REVIEW THE REHEARSAL SCHEDULE, TECH WEEK, & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE BEFORE AUDITIONING. ALL TECH WEEK REHEARSALS ARE MANDATORY. PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION IF YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT.
